RCE of Somerset County Advisory Board
The Rutgers Cooperative Extension (RCE) of Somerset County Advisory Board was formed and meets on a regular basis to address issues and concerns to strengthen, promote, and support overall Rutgers Cooperative Extension efforts in Somerset County. These may include volunteerism, resource development, public and government relations, reaching a diverse audience, and other current issues.
Who are they? The Advisory Board members are community representatives and volunteers who currently serve on individual RCE program advisory groups, have expertise in RCRE focus areas, and/or represent the public and clientele groups.
What do they do? The Advisory Board members advise the county RCRE faculty and staff on current and future outreach programs in the areas of Agriculture & Resource Management, Family & Community Health Sciences, and 4-H Youth Development. Members may also assist with specific programs, marketing strategies, and program evaluation and event planning.
What types of service? Advisory Board members secure support and interest of other organizations, identify under-served groups and potential program areas, educate and inform on the impact and benefits of RCE, assist in annual budget reviews, and may serve as an Advisory Board elected officer.
